International Kyokushin “Shumen” Cup in Bulgaria drew karatekas from 33 clubs

The International Kyokushin “Shumen” Cup was marked by a record-setting number of participants with 360 karatekas from 33 clubs participating in the tournament. This is 120 more fighters in comparison to last year’s edition.

Once again, the competition was for all age groups and offered a lot of fun and positive emotions for the participants and the fans. The fighters demonstrated their top-notch skills and will to win, with most of the bouts being neck and neck until the very last seconds.

The tournament took place on October 15 and was part of the official Bulgarian karate Kyokushin Federation calendar. SKK “Kyokushin-Shumen” was the host of the event in SC “Pliska”.

“Okami Dojo” from Asenovgrad claimed the team title, as there were plenty of other prizes.

The “Fight Spirit” awards went to Yordan Rachev from “Senshi-do”, Lovech; Kaloyan Nanev from “Nihonto”, Varna; Geno Ivanov “Tsunami”, Chirpan and Vasil Chalakov from “Okami Dojo”, Asenovgrad.

All karatekas that took part in the tournament had a 7th kyu or lower. The competition was divided among boys and girls (8, and 10,12,14 years), juniors, men and women, and veterans (U45 and over 50 years).
