National championship for youngest Bulgarian karatekas

This year’s Bulgarian National Kyokushin Karate Championship for children up to 8 and up to 10 years old was held in the town of Asenovgrad on April 9th. The competition was in the kumite and kata disciplines.

The host of the championship was the local SC “Okami Dojo” under the auspices of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF). Applications were submitted by 156 athletes from 23 clubs across the country.

Karatekas from four clubs received special awards – Yambol, Chirpan, Veliko Tarnovo, and Burgas.

Dimitar Chakarov from Doychev 2020 Sports Club (Yambol) for boys and Victoria Atanasova from Tsunami Sports Club (Chirpan) for girls took the prize for “Fighting spirit”. Mihail Ivanov from SC “Katana” (Veliko Tarnovo) and Bilyana Parvanova from SC “Sentoki” (Burgas) was the “Most Technical” fighters.

The next event on the federation’s calendar is the National Kyokushin Championship for men, women, and youths. The competition will be held on April 16 in Stara Zagora. The organizers are BKKF and SC “ASKEN” with legendary Shihan Asen Asenov.
