FAVORITES OF THE 3rd KWU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – Men -80 kg.

In the last days before the championship we will introduce you favorites of the 3rd KWUCHAMP

The forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Men -80 kg

Weight category under 80 kg (32 participants)

The winners of previous two World Championships in this weight category are:

  1. Abdurashidov Shamsudin (Russia);
  2. Suyunov Merey (Kazakhstan).

This is the biggest weight category of the World Championship. To become the champion in the category it is necessary to win at least five fights.

Despite the large number of participants, the clear favorites in this weight category are two – the bronze medalist of the 2nd KWU World Championship Swede Jonas Rosin and the current champion of Europe and Russia Stanislav Mezhevtsov. Both fighters are strong, young, ambitious and show consistently high results.

Stanislav Mezhevtsov is the brother of the winner of the 1st KWU World Championship Alexei Mezhevtsov. Perhaps this will be an additional incentive for him.

In the medal race, Kristiyan Doychev from Bulgaria, Japanese Yu Funasaki and, perhaps, still promising, Zsiga Zsolt from Hungary are most likely to take part.

The analysis of the favorites is based on the comparison of athletes’ achievements in the period from 2015 to the present day.

However, the forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Tatami is the place for a feat. Whoever will be ready for the feat on the day of the tournament will win a medal.
