On November 22, 2015, Zahari Damyanov wrote his name in golden letters in the history of Kyokushin karate, winning the toughest and most prestigious competition in Japan – the World Championship without categories. This is how he became the first Bulgarian and European to step on the top of the honorary ladder. The first place in the championship, which is held once every four years, is the importance of Olympic gold. In November 2016, Sensei Zahari Damyanov was appointed coach of the national team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation.
