The karateka Kristiyan Doychev won Bulgarian best athlete in fight sports

Kristiyan Doychev from the national team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation is the winner of the big prize “Best Athlete – Man” 2019 in Bulgaria from the prestigious annual awards Golden Belt.

They were held for the second time in Bulgaria and were organized by the Bulgarian Martial Arts Association with chairman Shihan Ivo Kamenov. During the glamorous and elegant ceremony on December 15 at Sofia Event Center the Association awarded the best and most deserving athletes and coaches of the year, among who is also the karate medalist Doychev.

He was honored with two prizes – the big Golden belt award of the National Martial Sports Association and “Athlete of the year” by the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin federation. The award was given by Shihan Asen Asenov, who is part of the management of BKKF, and is the first Bulgarian golden medalist from the European Karate Kyokushin Championship.

“I would like to thank the Bulgarian Martial Arts Association and the Bulgarian Kyokushin federation for this event. I am glad that my work is rewarded. We proved that the Bulgarian fighters are world-class, once again”, said Doichev.

The 23-year-old Kristiyan Doychev sends his most successful year in sports. In 2019 he won the European Championship in Portugal and also won a professional Kyokushin fight against Hammid Zandy by unanimous decision.

The prize “Athlete of the year – woman” of BKKF was awarded to Iya Kostova and the for the Coach of the year BKKF chose Jivko Andreev.

Kristiyan Doychev, Iya Kostova and Jivko Andreev received their awards from Shihan Asen Asenov, who is part of the management of BKKF.
