On October 19, the “Ivan Vazov” Sports Hall in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria hosted an exceptional and exciting sports tournament – the National Karate Kyokushin Cup for children under 12 and 14 years old. The event brought together 174 competitors from 29 clubs representing the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF), who competed in the Kumite discipline across 21 different categories.

The club with the most gold medals from the championship was SC “Ikigai” from Burgas, whose athletes won a total of 11 medals at the national cup—6 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

As is tradition, four special awards were presented at the end of the event. The title for “Most Technical Fighter” for the boys was awarded to Georgi Vasilev from SC “Kyokushin” in Levski, while for the girls, the prize went to Darina Doinova from SC “Katana” in Veliko Tarnovo. The young karatekas who earned the “Most Spirited Fighter” awards for their performances on the tatami were Ivaylo Danev from SC “Nihonto” in Varna for the boys and Paolina Ivanova from SC “Senshi-do” from Lovech for the girls.

The National Karate Kyokushin Cup in Stara Zagora showcased the progress and skills of young athletes from across the country and also became a celebration for sports, uniting children in a competitive spirit, striving for achievements, and providing an opportunity for new friendships.
