Shihan Ryu Narushima: The sport is not a sacrifice, it is just a natural part of life

Shihan Ryu Narushima is emphatic that sports shouldn’t be treated like an unpleasant part of a person’s daily chores. They should just be a part of their life. He was one of the special guest lecturers at the SENSHI camp in Varna between February 17-19. This was the occasion for his interview for Boec.com so that we can learn a little bit more about martial arts. The special interview was aired on Bloomberg TV Bulgaria’s show “In Progress…”.

“Sports aren’t a sacrifice for men. I look at them as something necessary. Something that needs work and time investment. For me, it is just a natural part of life that does not need a special sacrifice like eating or sleeping”. He said in front of our camera.

He started his Kyokushin path at an early age because his father was studying karate. Later he started a professional career and won prizes at local and international tournaments in the 90s.

“I am very excited about this camp because we are going to see some very experienced instructors with a lot of fighting backgrounds. They are going to share their experience, wisdom, skills, and techniques. I am sure they can pass it on to the next generation of experienced fighters. That’s why I can’t wait for the camp to start”. Ryu said before the SENSHI camp in the Sea capital of Bulgaria.

Shihan Ryu Narushima also spoke about the evolution of martial arts from the influence of MMA. He thinks that karate is a very good start for every fighter who wants to start that journey even though Kyokushin had more restrictive rules.
