Nedzhmi Bozov from BKKF is the new World Kyokushin Karate Champion

Bulgaria with a brilliant performance at the IFK World Championships

 

Great achievement for Bulgaria at the 7th IFK World Karate Kyokushin Championships. Nedzhmi Bozov from the national team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation /BKKF/ is the new world champion in karate kyokushin in the weight category over 75 kg for boys under 18 years. To reach the gold medal, the native karate player went through 4 matches, facing a competitor from Ukraine in the final.

The seventh IFK World Kyokushin Karate Championship took place on May 10 in Leipzig, Germany, and representatives from nearly 40 countries attended. The Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF) was represented in the 14 to over 21 categories by a total of 26 competitors. Among them was Nedzhmi Bozov from the sports club “Okami dojo” – Asenovgrad. At the championship, the young Kyokushin talent demonstrated a strong spirit and high skill level, which impressed everyone.

In addition to the gold medal, the athletes won two silver and five bronze medals for Bulgaria, which is another proof that the country has many young hopes who are yet to be successful. The silver medals were won by Kaan Akiev and Alexandra Ivanova, while the bronze medals were awarded to Raya Ivanova, Kalina Parvanova, Ivan Gorchev, Yoanna Dafinkchieva, and Hristiana Dimitrova.

The entire BKKF delegation was greeted with applause from the moment they boarded the plane to Bulgaria. “This title is for Bulgaria! Thank you to my family, coaches and everyone who supported me,” Bozov said upon arrival in the country.
