The Cetradex ITACHI Open Kumite and Kata tournament 2023

Last Saturday, September 30, the Cetradex ITACHI Open Kumite & Kata tournament was held in SRGO de Staver, Sommelsdijk, The Netherlands. This annual event was organized by Karate School ITACHI Dojo. With +/- 270 participants and approximately 300 visitors, it was a great success.

This international tournament was attended by participants from home and abroad. Including Israel, Belgium, France and Germany. The participants included European and world champions. It is therefore clear that the level was very high. Beautiful games were performed, and there was also much to see in the Kata section.

Our councilor for sport, arts, and recreation, Mr. Eijkenduijn, opened the tournament with a beautiful speech and wished all participants the best of luck.

For ITACHI Dojo, there were 8 podium places, 5 of which were first place. The Deciso Cup for the most talented karateka went to a student of ITACHI Dojo who was very successful with his achievements. A few more matches were fought with the youth selection that was selected for the World Cup in November. Organizer and owner Sensei André van Wezel of ITACHI Dojo speaks of a wonderful tournament and is very satisfied with the results achieved.

The Cetradex ITACHI Open is, of course, worth repeating and will take place on November 16, 2024, again in SRGO De Staver in Sommelsdijk.
