Healthy dose of sparring marked the second day of the KWU camp in Varna

Exciting and explosive was the second day of the ongoing international SENSHI camp that is being conducted under the KWU International Professional League rules.

Two training sessions were conducted on Saturday in Varna with more than 200 participants from 8 countries taking part in it. The morning session was based on the technique, while the second one was dominated by the sparring sessions.

Shihan Ivo Kamenov, the Executive director of the KWU Professional League and Chairman of the National combat sports association in Bulgaria, was among the main instructors at the Palace of culture and sports in Varna. Shihan Kamenov paid attention to all fighters, giving them instructions throughout the whole evening session.

K-1 three-time heavyweight champion Peter Aerts was giving useful advices to the participants, portraying all the needed details of each and every one technique. “The Dutch Lumberjack” was in good spirit, as he even spoke some Bulgarian.

The Czech Republic’s Jan Soukup was once again one of the instructors in the seminar. Soukup, 41, is a European Kyokushin champion, “All Japan” winner, and a World Kyokushin championship silver medalist. He was involved in several sparring sessions with some of the finest Bulgarian fighters.

Hristiyan Korunchev (two-time Muay Thai European champion, 2017 WAKO kickboxing world champion, and Intercontinental WAKO PRO champion in K-1 style) and Aleksander Petrov (two-time kickboxing world amateur champion and a European K-1 champion) felt the power and the skills of Soukup first hand, but both guys rose to the challenge and landed some massive blows on their own.

Russia’s presence was once again on point with Shiahn Alexandr Pichkunov (KWU general secretary) showcased some great defensive techniques.
