Women -55 kg

Weight category under 55 kg (13 participants)

The winners of previous two World Championships in this weight category are:

  1. Berezova Svetlana (Russia);
  2. Virabyan Anna (Russia).

Among the participants of this weight division there is a bronze medalist of the last KWU World Championship Aleksandra Lesniewska from Poland.

Strongly look the Japanese athlete Erika Sato and Diana Maciute from Lithuania.

But, from the point of commitment, one may highlight the Ukrainian Anna Izdebska and the young Russian athlete Maria Savelyeva. Youth and stability do not always go alongside, that’s why it’s difficult to give a prognosis for Maria, but Anna Izdebska is able to reach the finals.

The analysis of the favorites is based on the comparison of athletes’ achievements in the period from 2015 to the present day.

However, the forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Tatami is the place for a feat. Whoever will be ready for the feat on the day of the tournament will win a medal.
