FAVORITES OF THE 3rd KWU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – Men -70 kg.

In the last days before the championship we will introduce you favorites of the 3rd KWUCHAMP

The forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Men -70 kg

Weight category under 70 kg (27 participants)

The winners of previous two World Championships in this weight category are:

  1. Mamro Evgeni (Russia);
  2. Iwasawa Toshihide (Japan).

The weight category is fairly balanced in the level of fighters. Only Bulgarian athlete Ivan Komanov and Russian national team fighter Sergei Chmunevich distinguish themselves significantly from all competitors. This is a potential pair of finalists.

Ivan Komanov (in right)

Ivan Komanov is bronze medalist of the 1st KWU World Championship, multiple winner and prize-winner of world and European tournaments, one of the brightest and most technical fighters of the Bulgarian national team.

Sergei Chmunevich, holder of many titles, achieved in 2017 such a powerful tournament swing, that, perhaps, he is the main favorite of the category.

Sergei Chmunevich

Belarusian competitor Marmysh Andrej in 2012 won the bronze of the 1st KWU World Championship, in Yekaterinburg he will have a chance to replenish the collection of awards of the Championship.

The analysis of the favorites is based on the comparison of athletes’ achievements in the period from 2015 to the present day.

However, the forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Tatami is the place for a feat. Whoever will be ready for the feat on the day of the tournament will win a medal.
