Ernesto Hoost in an Interview for Combat Sports Today: SENSHI Revives the Golden Years of K-1

The Dutch four-time K-1 World Champion Ernesto Hoost once again arrived in Bulgaria this September, the occasion being SENSHI 28 and the historic first-ever Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament. In connection with his participation as head instructor of the SENSHI training camp, as well as referee, award presenter, and commentator during the fight gala, he answered several questions for the international media outlet Combat Sports Today.

He briefly shared with the media audience and combat sports fans about his various roles within the SENSHI team, his commitments as a board member of KWU SENSHI, and how proud he feels of the promotion’s progress in recent years.

“I think that the fighters and participants truly appreciate what I and my colleagues – legends in the fighting world – are doing for the SENSHI organization. At every training session of the international martial arts camp, I see regular participants who keep improving and building on their fighting skills, and that makes me pleased and satisfied,” Hoost said in the interview.

The role that suits him best is that of head instructor at the international camps and, in his own words: “Teaching and sharing my knowledge and skills with the next generation of fighters is what satisfies me the most.”

Regarding the first grand SENSHI Grand Prix edition, he added that tournaments are a very exciting format, and that the promotion is reviving the legendary legacy of K-1, where Hoost himself fought more than 30 years ago.
