SENSHI 22 Honors Six Fighters with Special Awards

SENSHI 22  once offered the audience thrilling battles! The audience saw five fiercely contested KWU SENSHI World Cup finals for Amateurs’ dramatic turnarounds in eight professional bouts – two of them were very special! On Saturday night, the spectators enjoyed witnessing two titanic battles to defend European titles. Check the results from the exciting fights HERE.

This time, SENSHI 22 surprised and gave its traditional special awards not to three fighters but to a total of six! The organizers presented special awards for “Knockout of the Night,” “Best Technique,” and “Fighting Spirit,” both for the champions of the five weight categories of the World Cup for amateurs and for the three professional fighters.

The “Knockout of the Night” award for the KWU SENSHI World Cup for Amateurs was given to local MMA champion Mitko Iliev, who dominated the 80 kg category and demonstrated his ability to successfully fight under different rules in the ring.

The special “Fighting Spirit” award deservedly went to Nikita Garas from Kazakhstan, who didn’t give up until the very end of his tough match against Brazilian fighter Luckei. The “Best Technique” award among the amateurs was received by the same Brazilian Ricardo Luckei, who won a hard-fought decision over Garas in the 85 kg category.

The professional athletes delivered many spectacular moments to the audience in Varna, with unpredictable turnarounds in the matches. The contenders for special awards kept increasing until the last bout of the gala night.

The “Knockout of the Night” award was bestowed upon Eduard Aleksanyan, who defended his European SENSHI title in the 90 kg category and triumphed in his hometown with a remarkable knockout against Jakob Styben. The precise strike by the Bulgarian fighter was cinematic—the heavy knockout by Mr. Action came in the last second of the second round and will be remembered for years.

Fight sports enthusiasts were left speechless when Atanas Bozhilov’s match to defend his European SENSHI title in the 75 kg category was prematurely stopped by doctors, but his will won him the special prize “Fighting Spirit”.

The “Best Technique” prize went to the spectacular Giannis Stoforidis. Although he lost his match against rising star Ariel Machado, he showcased the great power of clashes, the significance of strength, and precise combat skills in the heaviest category of the international professional gala night SENSHI.
