Get ready! The USA IFK American International Karate Championships in Holley, NY is almost here! This is Shihan Monaco’s 30th-anniversary event! Make plans now – divisions are filling up fast!
Tournament State of the Organization Meeting
We are working on “exact details” but please note that during this incredible event in Holley, we will be arranging an “IN-PERSON” State of the Organization meeting for all (during the lunch hour when we break from kata towards kumite). This will be a chance to get an overview of upcoming events and hear from Shihans, Senseis, and committees like the Strategy Team, Judges Team & Black Belt committee. We fully expect all USA IFK Dojo Leaders and Yudansha that are planning on being at the tournament to be in attendance to hear about the amazing plans coming for our organization.
Fight Training in Akron, Ohio
It was wonderful bringing our Kyokushin family together for a fun and invigorating training day! Sensei Matt had the privilege of hosting and having Shihan Bill, Shihan Scott Haug, and Shihan Mike Monaco, visit his dojo with many great karatekas of all ages to work some basics and run rounds in preparation for the November 12th tournament. The fight day brought many friendly faces together to build what Kyokushin is all about – continuous self-betterment, friendships like no other, and some fighting! There were two promotions as well, one for 1st Dan awarded to Sempai Mack and a 2nd Dan promotion for Sempai Wojtek! Congratulations! Osu!
