Bulgaria Won 5 Gold Medals and Secured Second Place at the World Cup Varna 2025

Kazakhstan took the lead in the team ranking with a total of 23 medals

A total of 5 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals is the result for Bulgaria at this year’s karate kyokushin Varna World Cup 2025 for juniors, girls, and cadets aged 14 to 21. The tournament took place on July 8 in Kamchia as part of the 19th International Martial Arts Summer Camp. The duels were held simultaneously on three separate tatamis, with 347 kyokushin competitors from 27 countries battling for the medals.

Darina Doynova and Raya Ivanova in the 14–15 age category, Hristian Gospodinov and Viktor Vasilev in the 16–17 category, and Monika Stoyanova in the cadet category (18–21 years) thrilled the Bulgarian crowd by winning gold medals.

Kazakhstan ranked first in the team ranking with a total of 23 medals, including 6 golds. Bulgaria followed in second place with 16 medals, while Poland took third place with 4. A total of 66 Bulgarian competitors took part in the World Cup Varna 2025. The tournament attracted fighters from all over the world — from Armenia, Germany, Norway, and the United Kingdom to participants from Iran, Brazil, Bolivia, and Chile, who traveled thousands of kilometers to take part in the competition.

The tournament is part of the 19th International Summer Martial Arts Camp in Kamchia, which this year is being held from July 6 to July 13. This one-of-a-kind camp is organized by the Professional League of the Kyokushin World Union and the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation. The camp brought together over 2,000 martial artists from across the globe, training under the guidance of some of the biggest names in the world of martial arts – Shihan Akira Masuda, Shihan Semmy Schilt, Ernesto Hoost, Albert Kraus, Andy Souwer, Shihan Francisco Filho, Shihan Glaube Feitosa, Sensei Ewerton Teixeira, Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili, Sensei Zahari Damyanov and Sensei Petar Martinov.

The camp’s sports program this week continues with two more exciting events. On July 10, the KWU SENSHI World Cup for Amateurs 2025 will begin, featuring top-level fighters competing across three elimination rounds. The finals of the cup will take place during the professional fight night SENSHI 27 on July 13 at 6:30 PM EET /11:30 АМ EST/, on a specially built beach arena next to “More” restaurant in the resort of St. St. Constantine and Helena, Varna.

The full fight card is available at senshi.com, and tickets for the event can be purchased via Eventim.bg.

The World Cup Varna is held annually during the International Summer Martial Arts Camp in Kamchia, bringing together talented karatekas from around the globe. This platform for the development of the next generation in combat sports is made possible with the special support of Armeec Insurance Company, Bulgaria Air, M Car Group – BMW Dealer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Service, and St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding.
