47th British Open and 15th Cup of Europe Bring Together 329 Fighters from 33 Countries

The 47th British Open and 15th Cup of Europe took place on October 4th at the K2 Sports Arena in Crawley, Sussex, England, marking another remarkable edition of one of the most prestigious Kyokushin tournaments in the world.

This year’s event gathered an impressive 329 fighters from 33 countries and 21 organizations, once again proving that the British Open remains one of the strongest and most respected competitions on the international Kyokushin calendar.

The tournament also celebrated the 60th anniversary of the British Karate Kyokushinkai (BKK) — six decades of commitment, excellence, and the promotion of Kyokushin Karate in the United Kingdom and the world.

Special awards were presented to two standout fighters:

  • Jens Hommes (Netherlands) received the Knockout Award for his lightning-fast victory in just two seconds.
  • Jessica Krause (Germany) earned the Fighting Spirit Award for her exceptional determination and heart throughout the competition.

Champions Crowned at the 15th Cup of Europe and British Open

The 15th Cup of Europe and British Open once again delivered an incredible display of power, spirit, and skill, confirming its place as one of the most prestigious Kyokushin tournaments in the United Kingdom.

2025 Champions:

  • Callum Chapman (United Kingdom) – Open Men’s Lightweight (-70 kg)
  • Oskar Gębala (Poland) – Open Men’s Middleweight (-80 kg)
  • Szymon Olpiński (Poland) – Open Men’s Heavyweight (+80 kg)
  • Hayley Rowlands (United Kingdom) – Open Women’s Lightweight (-60 kg)
  • Aurelia Bolin (Sweden) – Open Women’s Heavyweight (+60 kg)

With returning champions and new competitors rising to the challenge, the British Open once again proved that it remains the crown to win in the UK.

It’s not about the size of the trophy — it’s about the size of the title.

The organizers have already announced the date for next year’s tournament — October 3rd, 2026 — promising another spectacular event celebrating the Kyokushin spirit.
