Some of the greatest kickboxing legends in the world lead the training sessions
Nearly 300 fighters and coaches from 16 countries are already in St. St. Constantine and Helena for the ongoing SENSHI camp. Participants from Austria, Bolivia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Spain, and Switzerland gather for one of the largest martial arts events in Europe.
The program kicked off with the first morning training, and in the coming days several intensive sessions will take place at the SENSHI Gym and the “Cherno More” hall. Earlier today, a special open training for the media with the participants in SENSHI 28 Grand Prix was held, while at 16:00 the official weigh-in and press conference with the eight contenders for the first-ever SENSHI Grand Prix Champion belt in the heavyweight division over 95 kg are scheduled.
The SENSHI training camp impresses with the presence of true legends – Ernesto Hoost, Semmy Schilt, Albert Kraus, Andy Souwer, and Errol Zimmerman are already leading the kickboxing sessions. The Kyokushin part is headed by Shihan Francisco Filho, Shihan Asen Asenov, Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili, Sensei Zahari Damyanov, Sensei Jan Soukup, and Sensei Petar Martinov.
Among those training at the camp are established SENSHI fighters such as Aissam Chadid, Uroš Nešković, and Petar Stoykov, as well as international tournament champions like Viktor Kolaja, Cristian Negru, Lucian Gînunci, Vasil Dimitrov, Konstantin Rusu, Bogdan Curiman, Ion and Vadim Briski. They are joined by other well-known names such as Ariel Machado, Giannis Stoforidis, and the Brazilian Petros Nathan de Freitas.
The highlight comes on September 13 at 19:00, when SENSHI 28 Grand Prix kicks off – a unique knockout tournament where three rounds will be fought in a single evening: quarterfinals, semifinals, and the final. The winner will raise the first-ever SENSHI Grand Prix Champion belt in the organization’s history. All tickets have been sold out, while fans can watch the event live on MAX Sport 1 and Bulgaria ON AIR, as well as online on the SENSHI YouTube channel.
