Dragomir Petrov: “Discipline Keeps Me Going, and at SENSHI 28 the Fans Will See a Real Show”

The SENSHI European Champion for 2023 and 2024 in cat. -70 kg and police officer by profession, Dragomir Petrov, is ready for his next challenge. At 32, he is already part of the combat sports elite, yet he continues to set new goals for himself. Ahead of SENSHI 28 Grand Prix, Petrov admits that discipline is his strongest weapon, and the audience can expect a true spectacle on September 13 at the beach arena in Varna.

Despite his rich experience, the Bulgarian fighter admits that the only thing that still worries him are possible injuries – not from his opponents, but from the demands of the sport itself. His favorite part of training is sparring, which strengthens the spirit and creates real situations in the ring.

In an exclusive interview for the sports media Gong.bg, he shared more about his preparation before his upcoming rematch against Romanian fighter Marian Lăpușneanu in Varna, his greatest achievements so far, and his messages to both his fans and his opponent.

What inspired you to start combat sports? Do you have a fear you still have not overcome?

My inspiration came from the K-1 World Max series. The only thing that worries me is the possibility of an injury.

What does a typical day in your preparation look like?

In the morning I do cardio, and in the evening I focus on developing my fighting technique and working with a partner.

How do you keep your motivation during difficult moments? What qualities do you believe make a champion?

Discipline – that is what keeps me going. Self-control, respect, discipline – I try to develop them constantly.

What is the most memorable moment in your career?

My debuts at SENSHI and one other big promotion – I had to prove myself.

What can your fans expect from you at SENSHI 28 Grand Prix on September 13?

A show and a real fighting spectacle. I promise to give my maximum at the beach arena.

What is your message to your opponent?

Let us create a true fighting spectacle.

Fans can show their support for the Bulgarian fighters at the beach arena, and tickets for the SENSHI 28 Grand Prix fight show are still available at Eventim.bg.
