Victory is the only goal for Dragomir Petrov at SENSHI 28 in Varna

SENSHI 28 will shake the combat sports fans with the first-ever Grand Prix tournament in the heavyweight division in  Varna, Bulgaria, on September 13 at 7:00 PM EET /12:00 PM EST/. The fight card of the gala fight night will also feature three separate professional bouts with some of our most respected Bulgarian fighters – Dragomir Petrov, Konstantin Stoykov, and Valeri Atanasov.

“I train twice a day two or three times a week, and once a day during the rest of the time. Conditioning, technique, drills, and sparring,” said Dragomir Petrov in an interview for the morning show Bulgaria Sutrin on Bulgaria ON AIR national TV.

Knowing his opponent, Petrov is certain that the rematch against Marian Lapusneanu will be tough, but victory is his only goal. He believes that success in the ring will open new opportunities for him, and he is ready to give everything to emerge as the winner.

“SENSHI shaped me as a fighter. SENSHI shows me where my place is, what I can do, and how to believe in myself. Honestly, I owe almost everything in my career to SENSHI,” the fighter also revealed to Bulgaria ON AIR.

Petrov also highlighted the unique atmosphere of the beach arena where the event will take place. According to him, the energy of the audience and the unusual setting make the experience different and special. For him, the presence of the fans is essential – it inspires, motivates, and helps him give his best even in the toughest moments.

Despite the intense workload and the risks of injury, Petrov feels well-prepared and, with the support of his team, manages to stay in great shape. He has fought 16 times in the SENSHI ring, securing 12 victories. Petrov is also a two-time SENSHI European Champion, winning titles in 2023 and 2024. He believes that proper preparation, diet, recovery, and physiotherapy are the key to his long-lasting performance in the ring.

As for his plans for the fight on September 13, he relies both on his experience and on his ability to adapt during the match.
