Legends and Future Champions Met at the SENSHI Camp in Varna

From September 11 to 14, Varna hosted one of the largest combat sports events – the international SENSHI Camp. More than 300 fighters and coaches from 16 countries – including Austria, Germany, Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands, and many more – gathered in Varna, Bulgaria, to train side by side with some of the greatest legends in kickboxing and Kyokushin.

The camp program featured several intensive sessions each day at the “Black Sea” Hall and the “SENSHI Gym,” with every training led by world-renowned instructors. Among them were kickboxing legends Ernesto Hoost, Shihan Semmy Schilt, Albert Kraus, Andy Souwer, as well as Kyokushin masters Shihan Francisco Filho, Shihan Asen Asenov, Sensei Tariel Nikoleishvili, Sensei Zahari Damyanov, Sensei Jan Soukup, and Sensei Petar Martinov. Each brought their own signature approach – from speed and dynamism to tactical combinations, sparring, and strength training.

On the second day, the camp offered its traditional joint two-hour training session, combining Kyokushin and kickboxing in one hall. Nearly 300 participants trained together, while the instructors worked as a separate group under the guidance of Shihan Asen Asenov. The atmosphere was charged with energy and discipline, and everyone had the chance to learn directly from their idols.

The final training on the last day was led by Sensei Jan Soukup and Shihan Francisco Filho. The karatekas began with kihon under Sensei Soukup’s guidance, focusing on speed and power, after which Shihan Filho split them into pairs to work on diverse sparring combinations. The camp concluded fittingly – with plenty of emotion, sweat, and inspiration for future success. The highlight came on the evening of September 13 with SENSHI 28, when the audience witnessed the first-ever Grand Prix tournament.
