Official Invitation to the KWF “TOKIO Cup 2026” – Reunion Island

The fourth edition of the TOKIO Cup 2026 has been officially announced and is set to become the largest Kyokushin karate event on Reunion Island. Organized under the auspices of the Kyokushin World Federation (KWF), the tournament will take place from Friday, July 10, to Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Gymnase de Champ Fleuri in Saint-Denis, Reunion Island (France).

A Major Kyokushin Event

The TOKIO Cup 2026 is expected to gather around 300 competitors, competing in kata and kumite, with divisions starting from 4 years of age. Over the years, the TOKIO Cup has established itself as the most important Kyokushin event on the island, growing steadily in quality, scale, and international recognition.

The competition is open to all Kyokushin and Kyokushin-related organizations, both national and international, including:

  • KWF

  • WKB

  • Shinkyokushin

  • Independent Kyokushin dojos

  • Union Kyokushin Reunion

  • Dates: Friday 10 July, Saturday 11 July, Sunday 12 July 2026

  • Location: Gymnase de Champ Fleuri, Saint-Denis, Reunion Island (France)

Registration & Fees

  • Registrations: via the Kumite Technology platform
    (opens January 1, 2026)

Participation fees:

  • Kumite: 37 €

  • Kata: 37 €

  • Cut + Blow: 50 €

Spectator Tickets

On-site entrance:

  • Adults (15+): 15 €

  • Under 15 years: 8 €

  • Under 5 years: Free

Rules & Weigh-In

  • The competition will be conducted under KWF rules.

  • Exception: for the 12–13-year-old category, gedan mawashi geri is permitted.

  • Official weigh-in: Friday, July 10, 2026 (the day before the competition).

Official Invitation

The official invitation letter, signed by Shihan Pierre Grondin, has been sent to dojos worldwide, formally inviting Kancho, Shihan, Sensei, and Senpai to participate in this major international Kyokushin event and contribute to the continued growth of the TOKIO Cup.
