The countdown has begun. This week, the city of Montreal, Canada, will host one of the most anticipated Kyokushin events in North America: the KWU SENSHI Gold Cup 2026.
The international competition will take place on March 14 at the Pierre-Charbonneau Community Center, bringing together practitioners of different ages, ranks, and competitive levels for a full day of high-level Kyokushin Karate competition.
Competitors will take part in kata and kumite divisions, with categories ranging from beginners to elite fighters and masters. The event welcomes children, adults, and experienced athletes, creating an environment where the Kyokushin community can compete, learn, and grow together.
The KWU SENSHI Gold Cup has built a strong reputation in recent years as a major meeting point for dojos and practitioners across North America. Organized by a dedicated team led by Shihan Dominic Ohan and Shihan Pierre Cataford, the championship continues to expand its reach and attract athletes eager to test their skills on an international stage.
The competition will begin at 9:00 a.m., with athletes arriving earlier for registration and preparation, setting the stage for a full day of intense matches and demonstrations of technical excellence.
The excitement does not end with the tournament itself. The following day, participants will have the opportunity to train with one of the legends of Kyokushin and kickboxing, Shihan Glaube Feitosa, during a special seminar in Montreal, offering a unique chance for practitioners to deepen their knowledge and refine their techniques.
As the event approaches, anticipation continues to grow among athletes, instructors, and fans of Kyokushin Karate. The KWU SENSHI Gold Cup 2026 promises to deliver an unforgettable weekend of competition, learning, and camaraderie within the global Kyokushin community.
All eyes now turn to Montreal, where the spirit of Kyokushin will once again be celebrated on the tatami.
