On February 15 and 16, the city of Sorocaba, São Paulo (Brazil) hosted the II Samurai Challenge, an international Kyokushin Karate event led by Shihan Francisco Filho, President of KWU SENSHI America and one of the most respected figures in the history of the discipline worldwide.
Organized by Shihan Ronan Ramos, 6th Dan black belt of Kyokushin Union, the event gathered more than 60 practitioners, who took part in two intense days of technical training and martial development.
Open to athletes from different organizations, the II Samurai Challenge provided a high-level environment focused on integration and in-depth study of Kyokushin Karate. Throughout the sessions, Shihan Francisco Filho worked on essential kihon fundamentals, technical adjustments for kumite, combat strategies, and the core principles that sustain the solid formation of both athletes and instructors.
The strong participation highlights the continuous growth of Kyokushin Karate in the region and reinforces the relevance of the work carried out by KWU SENSHI in South America. Events like the II Samurai Challenge strengthen not only technical development, but also the unity of the martial community.
We continue moving forward with discipline, excellence, and commitment to the highest standards of full-contact Karate.
